Saffron Road Debuts at Natural Products Expo West on March 11, 2011
New Brand at the Forefront of the Natural, Ethnic and Halal Food Trend
Stamford, CT – February 23, 2011 – For the first time in its history, American Halal Company, Inc is pleased to announce it will be an exhibitor at the Natural Products Expo West Show with its new Saffron Road booth (#4451). The Saffron Road brand will unveil its new, Gluten Free, All-Natural, frozen Indian entrees at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, CA, from March 11-13th.
Saffron Road is establishing itself as a leader in the growing halal food marketplace; this is precisely the growing trend that Saffron Road plans to educate the natural food trade community about.
Saffron Road’s initial four products: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, Lamb Saag, and Lamb Vindaloo are currently sold nationwide at Whole Foods Market and select natural/specialty foods retailers for the suggested retail price range of $5.49 - $5.99. Each entree is made from only the finest all natural ingredients, including pasture-raised lamb and Certified HumaneÒ chicken, which are never given any antibiotics or hormones.
All of Saffron Road’s current entrees are Gluten Free certified. In addition to the all natural ingredients, and the adherence to authentic ethnic culinary techniques, all Saffron Road products are Halal Certified by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). Halal is an ancient tradition that has healthfully fed literally billons of people over the last 1,400 years. Halal promotes the sacred tradition of respect for the land, fair treatment for farmers, humane treatment of livestock and clean, healthy food to eat. There are upwards of 6 million American Muslims with over $170 billion in purchasing power that are looking for Halal products.
The brand is finding that its products not only appeals to those consumers whose religious principles guide their food options, but also those conscious-consumers who prefer food options that are Gluten Free, All Natural, humanely treated, anti-biotic free, and sustainably farmed. “It seems natural that our tradition of respect for the land, fair treatment for farmers, humane treatment of livestock, and clean, healthy food would resonate well with many types of consumers,” says Jack Acree, Executive Vice President of Saffron Road.
