Saffron Road Expands Into Canadian Market
Brand Takes First Step into International Distribution
STAMFORD, Conn. (April 19, 2016) – Today, Saffron Road, the fastest growing brand of premium frozen entrees, announces its expansion into the Canadian market, starting with four of its top selling World Cuisine frozen entrees.
The initial four entrees include:
Chicken Tikka Masala (Poulet Tikka Masala): This entrée is an exotic epicurean delight! Prepared with tender, boneless chicken, and baked according to authentic traditions with freshly-ground tandoori spices simmered in a savory yogurt and tomato sauce. It’s irresistible on a bed of Basmati rice. Serve with naan and a garnish of mint leaves, cucumber slices, or lemon wedges.
Chicken Biryani (Biryani au Poulet): This outstanding entrée is an authentic reflection of Indian culinary art, originating from the regal kitchens of the Nizam of Hyderabad Provence. Perfected over generations, it is traditionally prepared by cooking Basmati rice with succulent chunks of all natural chicken and caramelized onions infused with an unmistakable blend of enticing spices, aromas and flavors. Our Basmati Biryani is seasoned with a pinch of sea salt. Garnish with yogurt or raita, and a sprinkle of lemon.
Lemongrass Basil Chicken (Poulet à la Citronelle et au Basilic): Thailand boasts one of the great cuisines of the world justly famous for its complex and intricate flavors. Which may be why it’s also known as the “Land of Smiles.” You’ll smile too when you taste our roasted white meat chicken simmered in a lemongrass and basil green curry with green peppers and onions. It’s the perfect complement to our fragrant Basmati rice.
Chicken Pad Thai (Pad Thaï au Poulet): Like Venice in Italy, Thailand’s magical Bangkok is built on a wide network of canals. So it should be no surprise that the art of the noodle is equally prized in each. Our Pad Thai is a delightful version of this national dish featuring wide flat rice noodles topped with roasted white meat chicken simmered with carrots and scallions in an exotic peanut sauce.
The four entrees slated for Canada are made with the same authentic recipes and premium ingredients consumers in the U.S. have been enjoying since the brand’s launch in 2010 – simply updated with bilingual French packaging per CFIA standards. They’re each certified both Halal and Gluten Free and will be launching this month initially at Whole Foods Market® and Choices Markets through Horizon Distributors, UNFI and Coopérative d’Alentour.
