Explore the noodle worthy of royalty in this traditional Japanese treat.

Did you know that…
The humble soba noodle didn’t start out humble at all. This modern day favorite of millions of Japanese and enthusiastic fans around the world began as a dish reserved only for the Shogun and his feudal lords, the Daimyo, during the Edo period in Japan. Which means the world didn’t have its first taste until well after 1868 when their rule finally ended.

Pick another of their entrees!I love soba noodles and had hopes for this one. Perhaps if i hadn't tried it in a microwave, it would have held up better, but the noodles were a sticky mush and the bowl as a whole had little flavor. I didn't eat much of it. I've had by far the best luck with the Indian entrees (I particularly like the chicken biryani & lamb saag), and for noodles I find I prefer the vegetarian pad thai to the chicken one.

This the 2nd Saffron Road frozen meal I've tried. I didn't like the soba noodles. They were extremely sticky and tasted like moth balls. I will say the chicken & veggies were great. Could use a little more sauce, but maybe the sticky noodles absorbed it all. If you like soba noodles you might like this. I don't. If you make the teriyaki chicken with rice I would definitely purchase.

I love teriyaki chicken and this was no different. The soba noodles are fantastic. The meal itself is very flavorful and goes well together. Most frozen meals you do not get a lot of vegetables, but this dish you get tons. I would highly recommend this to anyone that likes teriyaki chicken for when they need a quick meal.
