Explore the spicy Japanese inspired ramen with a Szechuan heritage.

Did you know that…
Tan Tan ramen has a history in both Japan andChina. Originally called dandan noodles or “peddler’s noodles” in China, it refers to a type of carrying pole that was carried by street vendors who sold the dish. Ultimately its fame carried it all the way to Japan, where they fell in love with this spicy Szechuancreation. Ours is made with a carefully simmeredbone broth, bok choy, red chilies, dark meatchicken and fermented bean paste – Yum!

DisappointedHaving tried and loved so many of the other Saffron Road dishes, I was let down by this one. The noodles were fine but the broth was lacking. I was expecting the deep, rich, salty umami broth I'm familiar with (or at least a pared down version of it), but while the broth was spicy, it lacked any other real flavor.
