Mission-based Brand Saffron Road Partners with Frontline Impact Project to Donate 10,000 Healthy Meals and Snacks to Frontline Workers
On a Journey to Better, value-driven company Saffron Road multiplies its charitable efforts to support essential workers locally and globally through various organizations
Stamford, Conn. (June 4, 2020) – Saffron Road® — a leading socially responsible, natural and organic food company — is proud to share its partnership with Frontline Impact Project, a matching platform started by The KIND Foundation in consultation with Project N95, to donate nearly 10,000 meals and snacks to heroes on the frontlines serving communities hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adnan Durrani, Saffron Road founder and CEO, explains that at the start of the COVID-19 crisis, “we swiftly began outreach to several organizations and healthcare facilities and discovered many were not able to accept or safely store large quantities of frozen shipments of our meals. When we learned of the Frontline Impact Project, it was a no-brainer for us to join. Their platform and matching process greatly simplified our efforts and amplified our charitable work to seamlessly reach thousands of providers.”
After recognizing that frontline heroes were struggling to meet their own basic needs, Frontline Impact Project set out to recruit enterprises willing to donate food, beverages, lodging, personal care items, and mental health services. Saffron Road was the second brand to join the effort and has since been supporting healthcare and first responder groups across the tri-state area. Less than two months since inception, more than 50 donors have signed up, and resources have been stewarded across 37 states and Washington D.C. to reach more than 316,000 people, most of whom work in hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient medical practices.
“Frontline Impact Project works because of generous partners like Saffron Road,” says Michael Johnston, President of The KIND Foundation. “Individual meals are requested on the platform nearly every day, and having Saffron Road committed to meeting this need ensures frontline workers stay nourished and feel appreciated.”
In addition to a partnership with Frontline Impact Project, Saffron Road has donated meals and snacks for healthcare workers through On Call Halal; 1,000 care packages to first responders, doctors, nurses and all of those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic through a social media campaign; and delivered snacks to Founders Give, & The Lee Initiative to support healthcare and (unemployed) hospitality workers. Through a monetary donation, Saffron Road has supported CityMeals (Meals on Wheels) providing resources to homebound elderly in New York City who were particularly affected by the lockdown and Penny Appeal USA, CELEBRATE MERCY & Launch Good, supporting the COVID-19 Emergency Response Financial Hardship Grants which support the elderly & enable families to pay their rent, utilities and medications.
