Indian Snack Mix with Tamarind Chutney

This snack mix is a twist on the traditional bhel puri snack mix found in Indian markets and replicated from the street food stalls so many people love and enjoy.
  • 1 cup Saffron Road Bombay Spice Crunchy Chickpeas
  • ½ cup Dang Toasted Coconut Chips
  • ½ cup dried pineapple chips
  • ½ cup dried banana chips
  • ½ cup dried mango chips
  • ⅔ cup tamarind syrup + 2 tablespoons water + pinch ground chili powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons jalapeƱos, minced
  • 1 cup freshly diced tomato
  • ½ cup freshly diced yellow or white onion
  • 3-4 tablespoons freshly chopped cilantro
  1. In a bowl, combine the Saffron Road Bombay Spice Crunchy Chickpeas with the Dang Coconut Chips and all of the dried fruit chips. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl or cup, combine the tamarind syrup with the water and ground chili, if desired. Set aside.
  3. To a large plate, arrange a small portion of the chickpea mixture with equal amounts diced jalapeƱo, tomato, onion and cilantro. Drizzle the tamarind syrup mixture on top and combine all of the ingredients together before eating.
  4. To serve, encourage guests to do the same on individual plates or in bowls.
